It is only fitting that the home state of Gilbert Stuart, the man credited with five famous presidential portraits, including the face of George Washington that appears on the one dollar bill, is experiencing waves of opportunity in its art industries. In fact, 4.5% of all jobs in Rhode Island are arts-related, surpassing a regional figure of 3.5%.
Rhode Island's art sector in general is forecasted to grow by 25.5% through 2012, and more specific occupations have received similar expectations of growth. Interior designers, for example, lead the pack with 21.3%, while set and exhibit designers follow with 20%. Graphic designers will enjoy an increase of 17.7% in job opportunities, as well.
