Introduction: Cornish College of the Arts is one of only three private, nonprofit performing and visual arts colleges in the nation. Cornish offers a distinctive blend of visual and performing arts grounded in a core curriculum of humanities and sciences. Cornish's mission is to provide students aspiring to become practicing artists with an educational program of the highest possible quality, in an environment that nurtures creativity and intellectual curiosity, while preparing them to contribute to society as artists, citizens, and innovators. We strive to accomplish this mission by offering baccalaureate studies in the arts and by being a focal-point in the community for public presentation, and discussion of the arts. We are a small college with 700 students in Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and Bachelor of Music (BM) programs and are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
