Introduction: The Minneapolis College of Art and Design is a small four-year private college committed to educating individuals to become professional artists and designers, leaders and effective critical thinkers. MCAD was founded in 1886 and has the highest-level of accreditation for a school of its kind. Our rigorous programs focus on studio-based and liberal arts courses and we offer BFA and MFA degrees with 14 majors in the areas of fine arts, media and design, as well as the unique Bachelor of Science degree in Visualization. Some of our more prominent majors include interactive media, furniture design and advertising design. All of our faculty are professional artists and designers and the school currently has a 12:1 student to teacher ratio. Our state-of-the-art facilities are available 24/7 and students have the opportunity for personal studio space and on-campus living. The teachers, facilities and community at MCAD challenge students to think, create and grow.
