Photographers have the power to capture the spirit and imagination of the world's people. The Associate Degree of Applied Business in Photography Program at Antonelli College prepares students to enter the field of professional photography with the ability to become highly successful as business owners or highly valued employees.  

Career choices include working as commercial advertising photographers, audio-visual- slide producers, corporate photographers, portrait and wedding photographers, photographic lab technicians.  Working environments range from independent commercial studios, corporations, advertising agencies, audio-visual and production houses to photographic labs and professional studios.

The Photography program, headed by Charles "Skip" Martin, an Antonelli graduate who received his MFA from the University of Cincinatti, offers a high level of technical training and an understanding of the unique contribution that photography makes to American culture.  In addition, the program recognizes that professional photographers often operate private businesses, which require knowledge of business and management practices.

The specific objectives of the Antonelli College's Professional Photography program are to graduate an individual who:

• Has the ability to apply knowledge of the fundamentals of photography to a wide variety of situations:



• Displays careful work habits and a craftsmanlike manner;

• Is able and willing to improve work through self-criticism and lifelong study;

• Has a highly developed aesthetic sense particularly in the areas of clarity, design, and creativity;

• Shows skill in human relations and in verbal communication;

• Understands and can use the skills necessary to manage a small business;

• Can work successfully within a large, more rigid, photographic organization;

• Understands the role of photography as a representation of American culture and the degree to which photography influences American life;

• Knows the wide variety of job opportunities in the profession of photography.
